Legendary guitarist BILL KIRCHEN made his bones at an early age playing lead for hippy/country band COMMANDER CODY & HIS LOST PLANET AIRMEN. His tenure in the band lasted from the late sixties until the band broke up in 1976. During that time, the band scored a number of hits including “Down to Seeds & Stems Blues,” “Mama Hated Diesels,” and their mega hit “Hot Rod Lincoln.” After the Airmen broke up, Bill began a five-decade career of his own. His solo years include work with NICK LOWE, ELVIS COSTELLO, GENE VINCENT, LINK WRAY & REDD VOLKAERT. Kirchen has released ten albums of his own, each of which is rated 4/5 stars or above on every one of them. His new album, “Cat out of the Bag,” was released in 2026. Bill is often referred to as the “TITAN OF THE TELECASTER” and his shows are legendary. “Hot Rod Lincoln” often stretches into a ten-minute jam that blows the doors off the venue as he features his master guitar technique and re-creates the playing styles of numerous other guitar legends.
