About this event
The Spiritual Ecology Circle grows out of the awareness that the outer destruction we see in the world is connected to an inner disconnection from, and disregard for, the sacred within all of life. By cultivating humility and joy in being part of the natural world, we move toward an ethic of responsibility, reciprocity, care, and love for each other, the Earth, and all beings.
At Spiritual Ecology Circle, our intention is to create a space that is both safe and brave:
• A safe space where we can explore our emotions and experiences related to nature and the ecological challenges we face, feeling held and supported.
• A brave space where we are encouraged to stretch, deepen, and expand our perspectives.
This circle is spiritual at its core. We will explore, question, and release belief systems that create separation between ourselves, each other, the Earth, and the Cosmos. This includes examining patterns such as sexism, racism, ableism, speciesism, materialism, perfectionism, and other “isms” that perpetuate harm and hierarchy. Our work centers connection, curiosity, and a return to wholeness.
In addition to book studies and discussion, we hope to host a variety of experiences, including talks, rituals, workshops, scientific presentations, and field trips, to help us deepen our understanding of the world and reconnect with a sense of interdependence, reverence, and possibility.
Facilitated by Lilia Kapsali, an outdoor educator and certified Nature-Connected Coach dedicated to helping people cultivate deeper connection, emotional intelligence, and embodied awareness. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s in Outdoor Environmental Education from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Originally from Cyprus, Lilia worked in nature conservation before making her home in Baton Rouge.
Through her coaching and facilitation, Lilia supports individuals in crafting lives rooted in connection, self-realization, and harmony with the greater web of Nature. Her work centers on developing intuitive capacity, expanding awareness, and freeing oneself from limiting patterns to respond from a more loving and empowered place. Guided by a lifelong dream of cultural transformation, Lilia is passionate about honoring diverse ways of knowing, including the wisdom of body, heart, soul, and the more-than-human world.
