- ➤ Southern University Board of Supervisors named a 15-member search committee on Monday that includes local faculty, alumni, and public officials to select one to three presidential finalists for the upcoming May board meeting. Interim president Orlando McMeans (appointed in December) currently leads the system until a new president is chosen. The Advocate

- ➤ Louisiana residents must renew or enroll in their health plan through HealthCare.gov by Jan. 15 to keep lower costs before tax credits expire. Coverage will begin Feb. 1 as premiums and deductibles rise. WBRZ
- ➤ A boil water advisory remains in effect for residents on four streets (Oak Trace Drive, Live Oak Drive, Pin Oak Drive, and Bur Oak Drive) in a local subdivision after a contractor cut the wrong water line Monday morning, and water test results are expected on Tuesday. The Advocate
