- ➤ Residents in Zachary joined a city-wide clean-up on Saturday, Feb. 14 to prepare for today's inaugural Mardi Gras parade, sponsored by the city and Keep Louisiana Beautiful (a community effort). WBRZ

- ➤ Raintree Elementary custodian Donella Wagner (RISE award recipient) was recognized nationally for her service to students and the community. U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon presented the award in New Orleans after 16 years at the school. The Advocate
- ➤ LSU received over 62,000 freshman applications this cycle — nearly triple its 2020 count — with 82 percent coming from outside Louisiana. Officials say the high out-of-state interest is part of a national trend that may boost the university’s research profile. The Advocate
