- ➤ The Baton Rouge nonprofit Golden Guys marched in the Krewe of Comogo parade in Plaquemine on Sunday and were met with homophobic slurs and beads tossed at them — limited police response led board members to debate if they will join next year's event. The Advocate
- ➤ King Byron Jarvis and Queen Arlene Cobb were crowned Friday at the Council on Aging event — a Mardi Gras celebration featuring a parade with small shoebox floats and dancing to music by the Route 61 Band. The Advocate

- ➤ The Krewe of Shenandoah held its third Lundi Gras parade yesterday at 6:30 p.m. in the Jones Creek area — members reflected on the teamwork behind the new route. WAFB 9
- ➤ Knock Knock Children's Museum hosted its Mardi Gras celebration on Monday with arts and crafts, mini king cake decorating, crawfish races and a second-line parade featuring the LSU School of Music Jazz Ensemble. - ➤ A state audit reported LSU's finances improved by $332 million in fiscal year 2025 despite a drop in tuition revenue, thanks to higher non-operating income from state appropriations, gifts, and net investment gains. The audit projects enrollment-based revenues to grow in fiscal year 2026, supporting continued stability. WBRZ

- ➤ LSU’s Gulf Scholars Program offers undergraduates a chance to support coastal ecosystems while pairing with faculty and using a $6,000 fund for summer research. - ➤ East Baton Rouge Coroner Dr. Beau Clark is featured in a new docuseries (Fentanyl Stories) that examines the local opioid crisis after overdose deaths peaked in past years. He is hopeful that ongoing efforts like Narcan distribution and increased law enforcement will help lower the numbers further. WBRZ

- ➤ LSU announced Monday that starting this fall it will display a sponsored patch—featuring Woodside Energy’s purple and gold logo—on jerseys in all 21 varsity sports. The deal also makes Woodside an official community partner and expands its presence at athletic venues. WBRZ
