- ➤ LSU Tiger Girls dancer Sianna Armstrong is recovering from an I-20 crash while driving from Dallas during Mardi Gras break; her injuries are facial and her organs remain undamaged (her family reported that she first spoke on her 20th birthday) as she shows steady progress. WAFB 9

- ➤ The Black History Trail System was unveiled Friday in Baton Rouge to let residents and visitors walk paths that mark key moments in Black history. The new trail highlights sites of cultural importance and rich heritage. WAFB 9
- ➤ LSU Museum of Art will host a free First Sunday exhibit on tech & textiles as presented by Quon Smith and Skylar Vollmer, inviting visitors to experience creative design and innovative textile displays. WAFB 9

- ➤ LSU microbiology professor Elaine Nkwocha, originally from Nigeria, now teaches a CURE lab on antibiotic resistance that gives Baton Rouge students hands-on research experience while she leads local STEM initiatives through launching an ASM chapter and directing her education foundation. - ➤ LSU's Board of Supervisors approved a new requirement that starting in 2027, incoming freshmen with high school GPAs below 3.5 must submit standardized test scores, with all applicants required to provide scores after 2028. - ➤ Construction on the MOVEBR Bus Rapid Transit project began downtown on Friday, Feb. 27. Crews who previously installed bus landings are now building eight stations — featuring level boarding and ADA access — along major streets to support new BRapid service linking North Baton Rouge, downtown and LSU. - ➤ The Louisiana Attorney General's office settled with The Vanguard Group for $29.5 million in a suit that claimed coal market manipulation. The settlement was reached as authorities said cases continue with BlackRock and State Street. WBRZ
