- ➤ On Saturday, Feb. 28, the Herb Society of America's Baton Rouge Unit held its 10th Herb Day Sale with fresh herbs, native plants and garden supplies. - ➤ On Saturday, Feb. 28, LSU’s On Geaux Run Club and Black student groups hosted the inaugural Unity in Motion run at Unity Field — runners celebrated Black History Month with stretching, music and community, dividing into fast- and steady-pace groups. LSU Reveille
- ➤ Super Tax Day returned on Saturday — offering free income tax help to Baton Rouge residents. Hosted by Capital Area United Way with IRS-certified volunteers, the event featured a resource fair and financial literacy workshops to ease tax season pressures. WBRZ
- ➤ The Attic Trash and Treasure Sale returns to Baton Rouge this March (a local favorite), letting residents hunt for unique finds in a popular event that supports a long-standing community tradition. WAFB 9
- ➤ 225 Fest returned yesterday in Baton Rouge for its fourth annual festival featuring live music, food trucks, shopping, an art walk, and a new Kids Market — the free event was MC'd by WBRZ’s Mia Monet and aimed to boost local small business exposure. WBRZ

- ➤ LSU’s Asian Student Union celebrated Lunar New Year on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Global Community Center, where lion dancers, food from King Kong Milk Tea + Calbee, and a traditional dice game brought students together in a festive cultural event. LSU Reveille
- ➤ The Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band and two other HBCU bands will honor Michael Jackson's legacy during Black History Month by performing “Don't Stop Till You Get Enough” on social media — the movie Michael will be released in theaters on Apr. 24. WJBO

- ➤ Independent environmental tester Scott Smith said new samples show pollutants from the Smitty’s Supply explosion continue flowing down Tangipahoa River, including PFAS + dioxins. He will discuss his findings at a town hall meeting at Ponchatoula Beach Pavilion Sunday at 3 p.m. WBRZ

- ➤ LSU baseball head coach Jay Johnson earned his 200th career win when his Tigers beat Northeastern 3-1 & Cooper Moore pitched 7.2 innings of one-run ball with one walk. LSU will face Dartmouth at 12:30 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium. WBRZ
- ➤ LSU Softball remains undefeated with wins over Memphis at their invitational weekend, with a 7-0 win on Saturday and an 11-2 win on Friday driven by senior Paytn Monticelli's pitching + senior Maci Bergeron's key home run.
