- ➤ Southern University held a visitation Friday in its minidome where family, friends, and classmates honored Caleb Wilson—a student trumpet player who died after a hazing ritual on Feb. 27. - ➤ Scotlandville High held a memorial for 17-year-old Anthony Robinson, who was fatally shot Monday as he got off his bus near Village Green Apartments—BRPD reported a 16-year-old has been arrested on first-degree murder charges. WBRZ
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The 40th Wearin’ of the Green parade will roll on Sunday, March 16, and is forecast to bring over $1 million in business as around 150,000 visitors travel along its route. Local restaurant and bar owners have spent weeks preparing and expect heavy crowds near the parade’s end at the I-10 overpass — a boost to their sales. WBRZ

- ➤ Census estimates released Thursday show that nearly two-thirds of parishes lost people in 2024 as many left to find jobs, and New Orleans lost about 2,470 residents to drop to around 362,700—while East Baton Rouge added roughly 2,080 people from updated counts. The Advocate
