- ➤ Southern University System interim president Orlando McMeans requested $19 million in a one-time investment from state lawmakers to offset a $1.2 billion funding gap with LSU (the funds will be used to enhance campus security, IT systems, and student recruitment). WBRZ

- ➤ BREC Commission Chairman Michael A. Polito stated on Thursday that several Baton Rouge parks are being closed as part of a multi-year, data-driven initiative approved by voters; the sales proceeds will be reinvested locally to enhance parks + recreational facilities.
