- ➤ Tickets went on sale Monday for the Manship Theatre Red Carpet Gala featuring singer LeAnn Rimes. The fully catered fundraiser supports the theatre and will take place on April 16. WBRZ
- ➤ Local journalists will perform a satirical sketch show Friday at 7:45 p.m. at the American Legion hall on Wooddale Boulevard (near Florida Boulevard) as part of the annual Gridiron event, which supports college scholarships for student journalists. WBRZ

- ➤ Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University welcomes David Bellar as its fifth president — he vows to build on the school’s legacy — with celebrations starting today with a campus event from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and continuing with receptions on Wednesday and a Thursday inaugural mass at 10 a.m. WBRZ
- ➤ River Parishes Community College is celebrating Community College Week (Mar. 23 to 27) at its Gonzales, Reserve, St. Charles and Westside campuses. The events invite current and prospective students and their families to join community activities. WAFB 9
- ➤ LSU announced Monday that its golf course, open until May 9, will permanently close on June 30 as crews remove equipment. The campus is evaluating the property for a proposed arena at Nicholson + Gourrier. WBRZ
