- ➤ Baton Rouge Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday, March 23 at about 4:30 p.m. on the 4300 block of Monroe Avenue near Adams Avenue—22-year-old Jalen Lee was killed and another man was critically injured at the scene. WAFB 9
- ➤ Ian Seghers, 34, was captured Saturday, March 22 in Ocean Springs after a tip led a canine search — Baton Rouge detectives say he is linked to his stepfather's disappearance and he will be extradited soon. WAFB 9

- ➤ On March 22, the 20th annual Zapp’s International Beerfest took place at the LSU Rural Life Museum—where visitors sampled over 200 beers as a fundraiser to support museum research, education and preservation. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Water Sector Program allocated $750M under the American Rescue Plan Act to fix failing water and sewer systems in Louisiana. The program completed round two with nearly $300M awarded and will spend the funds by February 2026—local grants include $5M each for East Baton Rouge and Ascension sewers—supporting needed repairs statewide.
