- ➤ ExxonMobil announced a $100 million upgrade at its Baton Rouge plant to produce ultra-pure isopropyl alcohol for advanced computer chips—this work will create 45 construction jobs, begin this year, and lead to production in 2027. The company will also direct sales and use taxes from the facility to help address neighborhood blight. The Advocate

- ➤ Ian Seghers, 34, was arrested in Mississippi over the weekend on an unauthorized motor vehicle charge and is linked to the disappearance of his stepfather Keith Rowland—who was reported missing earlier this month—and he will be extradited to Baton Rouge as detectives continue to investigate possible foul play. - ➤ A Livingston man pleaded no contest to vehicular homicide for killing 19-year-old Caleb Easterling while driving under the influence and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Tuesday, with court records stating he will serve three years without benefit of probation—charges for vehicular negligent injury were dismissed. - ➤ Police arrested a 17-year-old Parkview Baptist student—accused of calling bomb threats into the school. WBRZ

- ➤ An appeals court barred defense from using the sexual history of former LSU student Madison Brooks in rape cases against Carver and Carter as evidence since it violates the state's rape shield law — a ruling that prosecutors said stops the use of prejudicial material. The Advocate

- ➤ East Baton Rouge Parish voters will decide on two proposals in the March 29 election—one to adopt a Home Rule Charter for St. George that gives the city new governing powers and another to extend the Wedgewood Crime Prevention and Improvement District fee, which will support law enforcement and local improvements. The fee ranges from $95 to $400 per year and is expected to generate about $60,825 in its first year. WVLA
