- ➤ Les Amis Bake Shoppe has moved downtown to join forces with City Roots Coffee Bar at 400 Convention Street—serving breakfast, lunch, fresh pastries, and specialty espresso drinks. It replaces Les Amis’ Coursey Boulevard store as City Roots now adds a second location for walk-ins. 225 Magazine

- ➤ On Tuesday, the Louisiana Board of Regents approved a new BS in Artificial Intelligence at LSU with a hands-on, industry-focused program, and renamed the College of Music and Dramatic Arts to the LSU School of Theatre-Film. - ➤ The Mayor-President's office partnered with law enforcement & community members on Thursday night at BRPD Headquarters to host the 'My Responsibility' gun safety event that offered free gun locks and training aimed at curbing youth violence and supporting local families. WBRZ
- ➤ Recent U.S. Census estimates show East Baton Rouge Parish added 2,463 residents in 2024 and 2,008 in 2025, keeping it the largest parish as Caddo and Orleans lost people. Increased enrollments at LSU and Southern University may be fueling the growth. The Advocate
- ➤ Lawmakers have advanced a bill targeting hazing at colleges after Southern University student Caleb Wilson died from dangerous hazing. The proposal, led by Rep. Vanessa LaFleur (D-Baton Rouge), would let schools suspend groups for up to 25 years and permanently ban them if hazing causes death. WBRZ
