CULTURE NEWS

  • Miss LSU 2026 pageant is set to take place this weekend, where contestants will compete for the crown at the university venue in Baton Rouge. The event will showcase local talent and bring the community together.  WAFB 9
  • Zach Bryan headlined a sold-out concert at LSU stadium on Saturday night+ fans traveled from out of state to join lively tailgate festivities before the show.  WAFB 9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students competed at the 14th Louisiana Elementary Math and Coding Olympiad held Saturday at Kenilworth Science and Technology Academy, where math and coding challenges and STEM workshops engaged learners, and teachers received gift cards for top performers — reflecting the community’s focus on academic achievement.  WBRZ
  • Period at LSU, a student club founded by Ava McCombs, is hosting a general body meeting on campus today to raise awareness about period poverty and menstrual health in Baton Rouge—also packaging period products for local women’s shelters.  LSU Reveille
  • Students from St. Amant High School Agriscience and FFA hosted a farmer’s market on Saturday at the school greenhouse, selling vegetables, herbs, house plants, and fruit trees. The event featured carpentry projects, local vendors, food trucks, and attractions for children like photos with the Easter Bunny + a petting zoo.  WBRZ

  • LSU softball rallied for a 3-1 win against No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday at Tiger Park after dropping Friday's opener in extra innings. A two-run home run by Kylee Edwards evened the series, and the final game will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT.  LSU Reveille
