- ➤ Senate Bill 389 was advanced by the Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday in Baton Rouge to extend protection for high school and college athletes in NIL deals — the measure requires agents to register with the state justice division and pass background checks to safeguard young athletes from untrained representatives.
