- ➤ Baton Rouge police are investigating after 15-year-old Tyler McWilliams was shot on Thursday night near Brown’s One Stop on N. Acadian Thruway and died from his injuries Friday—no suspects or motive have been identified. WVLA
- ➤ Baton Rouge officials arrested 42-year-old Rashee Scruggs—an alleged poly-drug dealer—and 20-year-old Cynthia Gross after a trailer search uncovered just over two pounds of fentanyl—9,662 lethal doses—and other drugs. WBRZ
- ➤ Baton Rouge police are searching for a 33-year-old woman (Katrice Hebert) accused of stealing $2,370 from a bank account in a case involving felony theft and illegal transmission of funds. WAFB 9

- ➤ The USDA cut federal funds through the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement, which will limit how Second Harvest Food Bank — a key partner with local farmers like Brandy and Jarvis Fontenette — can buy fresh produce after June. Second Harvest officials said they will use discretionary dollars and community donations to support over 40 growers across 23 parishes as the funding gap grows. WVLA
