- ➤ Residents gathered Saturday at Howell Park to honor Devin Page Jr., who was fatally hit by a stray bullet while he slept at age 3. - ➤ Ascension deputies said one person died and one suspect was taken into custody after a stabbing on Misty Oak Court in Prairieville – the suspect is related to the victim. WBRZ
- ➤ Former Southern football player Quaydarius Davis, 22, was booked by the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office on charges of first-degree burglary and domestic abuse and battery by strangulation after a viral Instagram post accused him of choking and beating a woman — his bail is set at $20,000. WBRZ

- ➤ Federal and local leaders signed a new partnership agreement on Friday to begin construction on the Brooks Lake Guide—a key part of the 12-mile Comite River Diversion Project designed to move up to 30,000 cubic feet of water from the Comite River into the Mississippi River to reduce urban flooding. The project will help protect about 700,000 people and marks a major step forward after years of delays. WVLA
- ➤ Senator Regina Barrow has proposed Senate Bill 41 to change child abuse and neglect laws by altering how cases are reported and investigated. The bill would require school staff to self-report serious legal issues within two business days and bar those on the state central registry from working in schools + it gives the education board power to deny teaching credentials for related convictions. - ➤ LSU's softball team lost to No. 3 Texas A&M on April 12th in College Station in a 9-7 game after giving up seven runs in the first inning while Tori Edwards hit her fourth grand slam. The Tigers will try to avoid a sweep today at 1 p.m. WBRZ
- ➤ Head coach Terrence Graves led the Jaguars in their Blue and Gold spring game Saturday afternoon at A.W. Mumford Stadium, where an offense vs. defense scrimmage featured quarterbacks Jalen Woods (the returning signal caller) and Jamari Jones (a JUCO transfer). Graves said both players moved the ball well but need extra work as Southern will start fall camp earlier and open the transfer portal on April 16th. WBRZ
