- ➤ Louisiana businesses will be reimbursed up to $150,000 for employee training through the WORKS program, as applications open Wednesday. The $7 million initiative aims to train over 6,000 workers in construction, industrial trades, & advanced manufacturing to address workforce shortages. The Advocate

- ➤ Students in Baton Rouge prepared for LEAP testing Monday as Get H.Y.P.E. (arts-integrated) visited Wedgewood and LaBelle Aire Elementary with interactive activities like a live saxophonist, game show, step-dancing, DJ performance, and dance workshop; the program will visit McKinley Magnet and Crestworth Elementary Tuesday. - ➤ Baton Rouge schools will begin using updated English language arts standards (created through a public review led by the state education department) in the 2027-2028 school year. The new rules focus on reading, grammar, and cursive writing to help students build core skills. WBRZ
