- ➤ The Seize the Day Baton Rouge Warrior Walk and 5K will be held this Saturday at Pennington Biomedical Center (its largest annual event) to support the epilepsy community and bring together over 1,000 participants. WBRZ
- ➤ The Better Business Bureau is hosting a free Secure Your ID Shred Fest Day at Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters on Airline Highway this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon & will shred up to three bags or boxes of documents while recycling old electronics to help reduce identity theft. WBRZ
- ➤ Livingston Parish is hosting a free dumpster event on Saturday, April 18 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Department of Public Works as part of Love the Boot Week. Residents must have a Louisiana ID + follow tire limits and may drop off household furniture, electronics, or appliances. WBRZ
- ➤ Ascension Water Company nearly finished replacing Darrow’s water line — the project is undergoing disinfecting and flushing with samples set for Wednesday; if approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, it will be fully operational Friday. WBRZ
- ➤ New River Baptist Church in St. Amant is hosting its first Car and Craft Show on April 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise funds for its youth group camp. WBRZ

- ➤ Bank of St. Francisville, which broke ground in December — boosting its Baton Rouge presence — plans to open a 10,000 sqft branch at 9029 Jefferson Hwy by March with 15 employees. The Advocate

- ➤ LSU’s coastal environmental science program has a 92% success rate and graduates earn an average salary of $75,995. Director Brian Snyder credits the 4-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio (with roughly 200 students and 50 faculty) for creating a close-knit classroom that readies students for work in environmental research and management. - ➤ Entergy asked the Public Service Commission to fast-track its billion-dollar energy investments proposal aimed at powering a Meta data center and new gas plants in northeast Louisiana; the PSC will hold a final vote in November if the plan is approved. WBRZ
