EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The House Education Committee blocked a bill to remove the meningitis vaccine requirement in schools. The proposal lost an 8 & 4 vote, leaving current mandates in place. WBRZ
- ➤ Louisiana public schools lost 60,000 students over the past decade, forcing districts to cut programs and close schools as state aid drops with lower enrollment. In Assumption Parish, middle schools closed and students now ride to high school (a move that has spurred concern) as enrollments keep falling. The Advocate
