  • LSU Red Cross Club and community volunteers went door to door on Saturday in Baton Rouge to install free smoke alarms and help residents develop fire escape plans as part of their Sound the Alarm campaign — an ongoing effort to reduce fire risks.  WBRZ
  • Family, friends, and community members rode in a bike ride on Friday in Baton Rouge to honor Caleb Eisworth and Devonte Coleman; riders wore shirts (One Hand Tay) as Councilwoman Tawahan P Harris attended the tribute event.  WBRZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • LSU held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday for its new 140,000-sqft, $148 million science building housing 18 teaching labs, 16 research labs, and a 250-seat auditorium.   • LSU softball beat Ole Miss 7+6 in a tense game on Saturday at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge; the teams will play the final matchup today at 1 p.m.  LSU Reveille
  • LSU softball beat Ole Miss 6-4 at Tiger Park Friday night after an inside the park grand slam by Tori Edwards led the Tigers to their first win over the Rebels since 2024. The team played game two on Saturday at 5 p.m.  LSU Reveille
  • LSU Softball beat Ole Miss 6-4 in the opening game of their weekend series as Tori Edwards hit an in-the-park grand slam, giving the Tigers a lead. The series continues with a second game held Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and another scheduled for today.  LSU Reveille
  • LSU gymnastics is in second place at the National Championship meet Saturday afternoon after strong floor exercise and vault routines. Sophomore Kailin Chio scored a perfect 10 on vault & helped the Tigers post a 49.5125 team score as they trail Oklahoma.  WBRZ
  • LSU's baseball game against Texas A&M on Saturday was rescheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. after inclement weather disrupted plans — the Tigers confirmed the change in a post.  WBRZ
