- ➤ Southern University leaders are urging the Legislature to provide $19M in one-time funds to upgrade electrical systems at the Baton Rouge campus after three blackouts since February disrupted classes and campus operations. The funding is expected to address aging infrastructure as well as improve cybersecurity, campus safety, and utility systems. The Advocate
- ➤ LSU President Wade Rousse is outlining plans to reshape the system by boosting corporate partnerships, increasing research spending by 5–6% a year and connecting satellite schools, with new initiative details expected in 60 days.
