- ➤ Troopers with Louisiana State Police investigated a crash that temporarily closed Highway 16 on April 28—emergency officials responded during the morning hours. WAFB 9

- ➤ The EBRSO responded just before 6:50 p.m. on April 27 to a call about a man found dead in a backyard on Kilona Drive— the coroner’s office arrived around 7 p.m. and is working to notify the victim’s family as the homicide investigation continues. WVLA

- ➤ Employ BR will host its 2025 Regional Job Fair at the Raising Cane’s River Center ballroom on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and veterans + people with disabilities will be admitted at 9 a.m. to attend the free event featuring several established local companies. WAFB 9
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Baton Rouge Mayor Sid Edwards said he voted yes for DA Hillar Moore's property tax to add needed funds for public safety and support the prosecutor's budget. The tax will appear on voters' ballots this Saturday at a cost of about $5 a month + it is expected to raise roughly $24 million for the DA’s office while allowing some funds to support the public defender’s office.
