  • Hundreds sampled over 200 beers at the 21st annual Ron Zappe International Beer Fest on Saturday, May 2 at the (LSU Rural Life Museum) to support building maintenance and restoration as local beer lovers enjoyed varied brews and festival food.  WBRZ
  • Hundreds gathered Sunday at Crazy Dave's Daiquiris in Livingston to raise money for funeral expenses and future needs for Parker, daughter of Elizabeth Woodruff, who died in a car crash last week. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Voters will decide on May 16 whether to pass Constitutional Amendment 3, which aims to raise teacher salaries by $2,250 by dissolving three trust funds (Louisiana Education Quality Trust Fund, Support Fund, and Education Excellence Fund) to pay off retirement debt.   • LSU baseball completed its first SEC sweep by shutting out South Carolina 7-0 on Sunday afternoon after a winning doubleheader on Saturday. The Tigers will play Tulane on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) at home.  WBRZ
  • LSU women's tennis beat Rice 4-1 in the NCAA Regional Championship on May 3 — advancing to the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row. The team will face No. 7 seeded Virginia on May 9 at noon.  WBRZ
