- ➤ On Tuesday the Senate Judiciary A Committee debated bills to change car insurance rules—some senators supported reforms to lower premiums while others warned the changes might favor big payouts. The committee passed three industry-supported measures that headed to the full Senate before further debates on additional reforms. The Advocate
- ➤ Bobby Gumpright admitted his false robbery claim led to Jermaine Hudson’s wrongful conviction, a practice rooted in split jury decisions later ruled unconstitutional. Now, the two men—who met after Hudson’s release—are urging lawmakers to consider a bill that would allow retrials for inmates convicted by split juries. WVLA
- ➤ Sen. Beth Mizell introduced SB 152 in the State Senate — a bill that would let courts consider a victim's history of domestic violence or human trafficking when a non-violent self-defense act is used.
