CRIME NEWS

  • Ruby Ealy, 48, was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery after her brother allegedly shot her partner and both struck the victim during a dispute on Richey Drive on Thursday night—sheriff’s records show.  WBRZ
  • Three Baton Rouge teens, two aged 15 and one aged 16, have been indicted as adults on second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges in connection with a March 23 shooting on Monroe Avenue that killed a 22-year-old man and critically wounded a 21-year-old man—each victim arrived moments before the shooting and the accused remain in custody ahead of their May 29 arraignment.  The Advocate

  • LSU baseball opened the Baton Rouge Regional on Friday afternoon at Alex Box Stadium against the Little Rock Trojans — with the first pitch aired at 2:00 p.m. on SEC Network. The Tigers — ranked No. 1 by Baseball America and holding a record of 43 to 14, faced the Trojans who earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament by winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.  WBRZ
