- ➤ Accused murderer Ronn Bell's trial continued Friday morning nearly five years after he was accused of killing Baton Rouge activist Sadie Roberts-Joseph as defense attorney Randy Dukes challenged the police investigation and evidence, and the trial resumed Saturday at 9 a.m. WBRZ
- ➤ Deputies responded to a call in Denham Springs on June 7 when 20-year-old Trevor Borne allegedly shot a man in the ear during an argument — he was later found in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder. WBRZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ LSU has been in a hiring freeze since March 28, and Interim President Matt Lee said the pause will end on July 1—matching the state’s executive branch measures led by Gov. Jeff Landry.
