CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Baton Rouge police chased a drag racing motorist from Baton Rouge to Denham Springs late Friday night—he crashed on I-12 after exiting at Range Avenue, fled on foot, and was charged with aggravated flight, reckless operation, resisting an officer and driving without insurance. WBRZ
- ➤ A high-speed chase that began in Baton Rouge ended in Denham Springs on June 27 when officers responded to a crash — the suspect fled on foot and was quickly apprehended. WVLA
- ➤ Christopher Brooks died in a shooting off Avenue A in Port Allen while babysitting his nieces and nephews+ his family said he was a kind man who had enrolled in a welding class at BRCC and planned to work two jobs, and his funeral is set for July 5th. WBRZ
- ➤ Baton Rouge police reported Saturday morning that a 26-year-old man named Kevin Jackson was shot to death and another person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the 13000 block of Florida Boulevard — no suspects or motive have been identified.
