- ➤ A Crime Stoppers tip led the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office to arrest Andre Weatherspoon in Ozark, Alabama—he is accused of second-degree murder and battery after his girlfriend Tonyetta Loveless was found dead in November at Ivy Park Apartments on Jones Creek Road and he will face extradition soon. - ➤ Baton Rouge man Maurice Christopher, 28, was arrested for burglarizing homes and stealing items in northern West Baton Rouge Parish—he remains in custody with a bond set at $95,000 and an extra $25,000 for separate theft charges involving fuel delivery elbows from a local business. WVLA
- ➤ Police arrested 24-year-old Baton Rouge man Cade Johnson Tuesday morning after a nearly 40-minute chase that began when a 17-year-old's mother tracked his gray 2015 Honda Accord using her daughter's phone location—Johnson allegedly refused to let his former girlfriend leave as he drove over 100 mph and ran multiple stop signs until officers disabled his car near downtown Baton Rouge.
