  • Family members are mourning 29-year-old Kimberlyn Martin—killed along with her unborn child in a double shooting at the Elevate at Highland apartment complex—while police continue to investigate the incident and remember her as a hard-working mother who brought joy to those around her.  WBRZ
  • Fire officials are investigating a truck stolen from Baton Rouge that was found on fire next to a school in Greenwell Springs— they are working to determine how and why it caught fire.  WAFB 9
  • A nine‐month pregnant woman and her unborn child died after being fatally shot shortly before 9 a.m. on Sunday at an apartment complex on Highland Road in Baton Rouge – another man who was injured is expected to survive, police said.  The Advocate
  • Three people are in custody after deputies responded at 3:40 a.m. to reported vehicle burglaries at a Port Allen hotel along Commercial Drive—two more suspects were later detained after their vehicle crashed near the Port of Greater Baton Rouge.  WVLA

  • Baton Rouge hosted the USBC Open Championships at the Raising Cane’s River Center from March to July, which brought more than $125 million in economic boost by drawing over 58,000 bowlers and fans.   • Joe Burrow Foundation has partnered with Nationwide Children's Hospital to launch the Burrow Blueprint program this fall in Baton Rouge schools to provide on-site mental health care for students.
