- ➤ Deputies arrested 43-year-old Anwar McKenney from Zachary after he admitted to shooting and killing Brandon Cayette outside a home on Hwy. 405 in Modeste Saturday evening during a fight over paid parking at a trail ride event—he now faces charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons in Ascension Parish Jail. - ➤ One person was transported in critical condition after a shooting at Warwick Apartments on Jefferson Highway on Sunday, August 3—authorities have not yet released further details. WVLA
- ➤ On August 2nd, deputies arrived at 5 p.m. in the Modeste area during a trail ride event where a paid parking dispute turned violent—Anwar McKenney, 43, shot and killed Brandon Cayette, 40 and later admitted to the killing before being arrested and charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
