CRIME NEWS

  • Louisiana State Police arrested 37-year-old Matthew Vincent in Vinton after he drove his truck off La. Highway 108 near I-10, entered an unmanned crane and lowered its boom over the interstate—striking a vehicle, causing three crashes with two injuries and major damage while he faces charges including simple burglary, aggravated obstruction of a highway, negligent injuring, hit-and-run, criminal mischief, and pedestrian on the interstate.  WBRZ
  • Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Arthur Palmisano, 73, in Ponchatoula on August 16 for alleged possession of child pornography and booked him on 60 counts after discovering dozens of files on his devices—he is accused of uploading an image to a search engine seeking more.  WBRZ
  • A Ponchatoula man, 73-year-old Arthur Palmisano, was arrested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after a reverse image search linked a troubling picture to his devices—where officials later found dozens of illicit files and charged him with 60 counts of juvenile pornography.  WVLA

  • Officers from across the country gathered Saturday in Baton Rouge to honor police sergeant Caleb Eisworth — a respected officer, skilled motorcycle rider, and devoted husband and father. Many traveled long distances to show solidarity and pay tribute to his service as a protector of the community.  WVLA
  • Joe Salter, the former House speaker who helped guide Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, died Saturday (82) in Baton Rouge from kidney cancer complications. He leaves behind his wife, two children and four grandchildren while funeral arrangements are pending.  The Advocate
