- ➤ Today, Baton Rouge groups Keep Tiger Town Beautiful & The Grove Recovery Center joined forces to collect trash and help the homeless, turning a cleanup into a local movement. They plan to expand their efforts to provide more support to the community. WAFB 9
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officials responded to a shooting call on North 44th Street on Saturday night and encountered a barricaded subject—by 9:25 p.m. officers reported they were still on scene with no injuries and BRPD units confirmed they did not locate the suspect. WBRZ
- ➤ Iberville deputies arrested Donald Ray Vondo Jr.—accused of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon—in connection with a Friday evening drive-by shooting on Barrow Street in Plaquemine that injured a man who was later airlifted to a hospital. WBRZ

- ➤ The Livingston Parish Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month this September with the theme 'One Card, Endless Possibilities' and lets visitors spin the LPL Prize Wheel when they sign up, renew, or snap a photo with the giant library card—providing access to free workshops and online resources—and multiple branches will hold book club meetings to discuss new titles throughout the month.
