- ➤ Less than a week from the October election, Baton Rouge residents attended an event at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Monday night to ask questions and learn about ballot issues and district judge candidates—Councilman Anthony Kenney said such gatherings boost voter engagement ahead of Saturday's election. - ➤ A federal appeals court will rehear arguments on Louisiana’s law that requires public schools to post the Ten Commandments after a panel ruled it unconstitutional earlier this year. No new hearing date is set—an existing injunction stops the state from enforcing the law. WBRZ
- ➤ Attorney General Liz Murill asked the DOJ to dismiss Biden-era lawsuits over insurance coverage under the Oil Pollution Act—she said the lawsuits hurt Louisiana’s energy industry and could stop operators from meeting oil spill certification rules.
