- ➤ Festivalgoers will enjoy the Boucherie and Balloon Festival returning to Sorrento from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 at 9690 Airline Highway — the event will feature 12 hot air balloons, live music, family activities, and a traditional boucherie. Donations will support the Sorrento Lions Club and Louisiana Lions Camp — programs that offer summer camps for children with special needs and juvenile diabetes. WVLA

- ➤ On Saturday, October 11, LSU crowned its 2025 Homecoming King and Queen during a football win over South Carolina. LSU seniors T’Senre Gray and Kalayna Walker won a student vote and became only the second Black King and Queen pair in school history—marking a key milestone during the 100th Homecoming week.
