- ➤ Martha Sonnier, a 103-year-old Louisiana WWII veteran, recalled enlisting as a Marine in 1942 because her father inspired her to help her country. She shared memories of learning to spot enemy planes and welcoming returning troops—she urges young people today to consider a military career. WVLA

- ➤ Pipe & Steel Industrial will expand its Denham Springs facility with a new steel processing center and added equipment — a $5.1 million project that will create 20 direct jobs at an average salary of $62,400 and 36 indirect jobs while keeping 70 employees. - ➤ On November 3rd, 2025, LSU student group Epsilon Eta Phi hosted a nonprofit fair in Baton Rouge to connect students with local volunteer opportunities. Held at the Energy Coast and Environment building, the event featured ten organizations including Baton Roots, which is seeking volunteers to help with community farming — a project that supplies fresh food to the area. - ➤ On Tuesday afternoon, the LSU Board of Supervisors chose Wade Rousse as the new president and James Dalton as the executive vice president and chancellor—some students criticized Rousse’s ties while board members praised his record at McNeese State, and his start date will be set later. 225 Magazine

- ➤ Baton Rouge officials proclaimed November as Veterans Month and launched the *Salute and Share* program on Tuesday by placing 249 American flags at Rhorer Plaza so residents can honor veterans on Veterans Day.
