Election Day brings a cold front, rain, and possible strong storms to Baton Rouge
If you turned your clocks back one hour last night, your extra hour of sleep is in the bank. WAFB forecasts a mostly cloudy sky, a 30 percent chance of isolated showers and a few storms this afternoon, and highs in the 80s.
The bigger change comes Tuesday. Louisiana First News says a cold front will bring showers and storms on Election Day into Wednesday morning, with damaging winds the main concern Tuesday night. WAFB's trend favors dry weather until late afternoon, while Louisiana First says showers could start by midday. If you're voting, WAFB suggests going early.

Tropics: no formation expected in the next seven days
That rain is much needed. WAFB says just about all of its viewing area is in severe drought (D2), and Louisiana First News calls the rain “a welcome sight” in light of those conditions. WBRZ says Monday should stay mostly dry before the front arrives.

WAFB says the restoration took nearly 15 years. The Lincoln opened in 1949 as one of only three places in Baton Rouge where Black residents could go to enjoy live entertainment, and it hosted James Brown, Otis Redding, and Louis Armstrong before closing in the 1980s.

WBRZ calls it a decade-long restoration and says funding shortfalls were among the obstacles.
The building now has office spaces, an esports lounge, and a recording studio. U.S. Rep. Cleo Fields told the soft-opening crowd, “This is a place I actually watched movies.”
